Jenkins Has A “Talent” For Dodging Voters
Jenkins dodges because he can’t take the heat for his record
CHARLESTON, WV — Congressman Evan Jenkins has refused to answer many tough questions during his political career because he has a “talent” for avoiding his constituents, according to the Beckley Register-Herald Editorial Board. When was the last time anyone saw Jenkins hold a public town hall meeting?
From the Beckley Register-Herald editorial page:
We have not been shy about expressing our criticism of Rep. Evan Jenkins, especially his talent for avoiding town hall forums… [Jenkins] shows up at ribbon cuttings and nursing home meet-and-greets, but is decidedly less devoted to taking questions from the mob.
Jenkins is dodging questions because he can’t answer for his vote to gut Social Security and Medicare.
At a recent candidate forum in Beckley, WV, Jenkins was asked if he would take from Social Security or cut Medicare and Medicaid to balance the budget.
Jenkins’ answer…
As covered by the Register-Herald, “Jenkins did not – and does not – want to talk about remedies for balancing a budget….Many people in the audience clearly understood what the congressman wanted to talk about and what he wanted to avoid.”
The dodge by Congressman Jenkins shows he is afraid to answer for his votes to destroy health care for West Virginians, and his recklessness that will cut Medicare and Social Security.
