Statement from Chair Belinda Biafore on Justice Loughry

June 20, 2018

Corruption Continues: On West Virginia Day, federal investigators announced the indictment of the man who wrote the book on political corruption in the Mountain State. Justice Loughry indicted on 22 counts.–MetroNews

Statement from Chair Belinda Biafore:

“Supreme Court Justices in West Virginia are held to the highest standards, and from the highest standards, Justice Loughry is taking the biggest fall to the bottom. Corruption has no place in West Virginia, let alone in our Supreme Court. Ironically Justice Loughry wrote a book on “political corruption” and here he is, caught in the thick of his lies. This is an insult to the voters of West Virginia. Today is West Virginia Day and on this day I pledge to you that we will continue to fight to end the corruption of Republican Leadership from the Statehouse to the Supreme Court and beyond. West Virginians deserve better.”
