TRUMP’S 2021 BUDGET ATTACKS MOST VULNERABLE WEST VIRGINIANS

Trump’s Budget Continues Republican Attack on Healthcare and Other Vital Programs

(Charleston, WV) — Trump’s 2021 budget shows continued attack on West Virginians who rely on Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security benefits. West Virginians with pre-existing conditions are still fighting a battle against Donald Trump, Patrick Morrisey and the rest of the GOP as they continue to try to strip them of their healthcare protections. Now, Trump is threatening to cut billions of dollars from vital programs that save the lives of many West Virginians, including seniors and children.

“Donald Trump’s 2021 budget makes massive cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security disability programs, and other vital programs that West Virginians rely on to survive,” said Belinda Biafore, WVDP Chair. “It is dangerous and risks the lives of West Virginians. Sadly, I’m sure West Virginia’s Republican delegation in Congress will go right along with it just as they did with Morrisey and Trump’s lawsuit to strip nearly 800,000 West Virginians with pre-existing conditions of their healthcare coverage.”
