Voters Beware: Jenkins and Morrisey Are Pinocchio Twins

Jenkins and Morrisey both busted for trying to stretch the truth

CHARLESTON, WV— It’s not even 2018 and Attorney General Patrick Morrisey and Congressman Evan Jenkins have already been busted for trying to mislead West Virginians. In the last two weeks, the fact-checking website Politifact called out both Jenkins and Morrisey for making statements that were rated “False” and “Mostly False.”

As the story goes, each time Pinocchio lies his nose gets bigger, and so far, Jenkins and Morrisey are competing with each other over who can stretch the truth the furthest. Morrisey and Jenkins have become the Pinocchio Twins.

“The Pinocchio Twins don’t want to run on their record of hurting working families so they want to try and lie their way to the U.S. Senate,” said Belinda Biafore, Chairwoman of the West Virginia Democratic Party. “If the dishonesty of Jenkins and Morrisey continues they’ll be in competition to see who has the longest nose by the end of the campaign. The West Virginia Democratic Party will be calling out the lies of the Pinocchio Twins every single step of the way.”
